At Adire Oodua Textile Hub, we are committed to preserving and promoting the Adire textile through our range of creative educational programs. Our free training programs are designed to cater to people of all ages and skill levels, and we believe in participatory learning, where professionals and novices learn together to create a positive impact on the art.
Our workshops, courses, events, and special programs are aimed at nurturing creativity, innovation, and leadership skills in our participants. We aim to establish an indigenous textile hub that trains and works with women in rural areas of Nigeria, providing them with the skills and resources to generate sustainable livelihoods through the preservation of our heritage fabric.
As part of our commitment to empowering women, youth, and children in society, we commemorate International Women’s Day every year by training women in the art of Adire making. We also offer monthly training sessions and conduct training sessions for primary and secondary school students during the summer holidays and on the 27th of May yearly.
In addition, we offer internship programs to university students studying textile making, providing them with practical experience and the opportunity to put their theories into practice. Many of our trainees have gone on to start their businesses with the grant we provide to skilled individuals without capital or retained here to work with us.
Join our training programs today and be a part of the preservation and promotion of our indigenous handmade fabric.
